Hornby Speed Boat 'Viking'.
Original vintage pressed steel clockwork Hornby "Viking" Speed Boat made by Meccano Ltd., Great Britain. A large boat at over 17 inches. Complete with the, usually missing, mast/rigging. With key. According to my source for this boat it has never been used. It does look very good so it may be the case although storage conditions were not ideal for the preservation of the box.
The tinplate Union Jack flag was in the box when I acquired the boat but I don't think it's a Meccano Ltd. item.
Mechanism:- Clockwork / Wind-Up.
Action:- Simple clockwork boat with adjustable rudder.
Size:- 17.50 inches long approx.
Condition:- In very good condition with some very light wear. Working order. The box is in a fairly worn and dilapidated condition but is complete.
