Vintage 'Roll Over Cat' Tin Plate & Celluloid Novelty Toy.
Original vintage tin plate clockwork novelty toy 'Roll Over Cat'. Marked "Japan" but with no indication of the manufacturer or distributor. The main body and ball are tin plate, the head and tail are celluloid.
Mechanism:- Clockwork / Wind-Up.
Action:- Moves forward for a short distance. The tail then swings over forcing the main body to roll right over and eventually back onto its wheels. The cat then sets off for a set distance. Cycle repeats.
Size:- 5.00 inches long approx.
Condition:- In good condition with some obvious play wear. Amazingly, both celluloid head and tail have survived as well as what looks like the original ribbon around the neck. Not boxed. Still very nice and with one of the more amusing novelty toy mechanisms. No key. Please refer to photographs.
