Electric train Set, Modelex Miniatures.
Original vintage tin plate passenger train set from Modelex Miniatures (actually a Wells-Brimtoy set I believe), Great Britain. The set consists of a streamlined steam engine, tender, two coaches, battery box and oval of track. This is a smaller set, the gauge looks to be roughly OO/HO. The engine is approximately 5 inches long.
Mechanism:- Battery Operated.
Action:- Electric train set.
Size:- box 16.00 x 10.00 x 1.75 inches approx.
Condition:- The set is in overall good condition and the engine is in working order. I've tested it by with a 4.5 volt battery across the wheels and the motor ran but I haven't tried it on the track. The set appears little used. There is no obvious play wear but there is some slight deterioration, probably due to it being left in the box for a long period. This mainly affects the tin plate battery box. The main box is in very average condition with some staining of the inner packing as well as damage to the sides of the lid (repaired).
