High Wheel Robot, Yoshiya, Japan.
Original vintage tin plate 'High Wheel Robot' sparking produced during the 1960's and 1970's. Marked with the Yoshiya trade mark (KO within a diamond logo) and 'Made in Japan'. Unboxed.
I've added a scan of a page of the Yoshiya trade catalogue for 1968 showing the High Wheel Robot along with a few others.
Mechanism:- Clockwork / Wind-Up motor. Fixed key.
Action:- Walks forward with spinning wheels in the chest compartment and spark in the mouth.
Size:- 10.00 inches high approx.
Condition:- The toy is in generally good cosmetic condition. The black and red painted sections are very good. There is a little corrosion on the rear lithographed panel and on the pressings which hold in the eyes. The hands are in good condition. Antenna on/off switch not working, walking motion working well, main driving cog is spinning but does not drive the other cogs (they seem to be stuck). The sparking flint has worn out. Rubber foot rollers in tact. The ratchets on the back rollers are working well so that the robot does actually walk forward rather than dancing on the spot.
