Magic Shunting Train, Mettoy? / Technofix, England / West Germany.

Original vintage tin plate "Magic Shunting Train" novelty tin toy. The toy is marked "Made In Gt. Britain" but has no other markings. All tin plate. It's obviously a version of the Technofix Rangierbahn (Shunting Railway) No. 275 produced from around 1954. You can see the No. 275 printed on the wagon. The lithography is tailored to the British market but it seems likely that it was produced in West Germany with maybe some minor assembly etc. taking place in the U.K. There's no real clue as to who was distributing it in the U.K. on the box but it's often ascribed to Mettoy.

Mechanism:- Clockwork / Wind-Up motor with separate key. 

Action:- The engine moves around the track alternating between pushing the wagon along and abandoning it in the 'sidings'.

Condition:- In very good condition. Complete. In working order. The box is in good condition. Please refer to photos.
