Mountain Road. Vintage Tin Plate Track Toy. mlp RSFSR Rospromigrushka, Russia, USSR. Ex. Technofix No. 314 Busy Diesel.

Mountain Road Train Track Toy, U.S.S.R, (Russia).

Original vintage train track toy manufactured in the U.S.S.R. I did think this was an LMZ product but it doesn't carry the LMZ trade mark. It is, however, a remanufacture of the Technofix toy No. 314 Busy Diesel (except for the vehicle/train which was normally paired with the Dolomite Express No 280). The title on the box, as far as I can make out is 'Mountain Road' or 'Mountain Threshold'. Very attractive lithography, maybe a bit nicer than the Technofix version. Busy Diesel was made in Germany from 1965. At some point the moulds were obviously sold on so I would guess that this toy was produced in the 1970's onwards. 

Translation from the instruction sheet indicate that the maker is mlp RSFSR Rospromigrushka, Moscow Factory Of Mechanical Toys. 123290 Moscow.

Mechanism:- Clockwork / Wind-Up motor.

Action:- The vehicle moves along the track, engaging the motor only when it's moving up the slope. It nudges the small cabin up the slope then free wheels down to the start. Cycle repeats.

Size:- 22.00 inches long approx. when the two parts are assembled.

Condition:- Working. In good condition. Box in fairly good condition with repairs at one end. Please see photos (open in new tab/window to see full size image).
