Musical Merry-Go-Round, Alps, Japan.
Original vintage tin plate "Musical Merry-Go-Round" toy from the 1950's / 1960's. This particular example is not marked with the Alps trade mark only "Foreign" on both toy and box. It's very similar to the Merry Gondola toy from the same company. A really attractive and quite complicated toy made from a lot of parts. It would have been very expensive to produce especially when you consider it must have been assembled by hand.
Not to be confused with the Chinese remanufactured version.
Mechanism:- Clockwork / Wind-Up motor. Integral Key.
Action:- Carousel toy with ringing bell. The cars also move up and down as they rotate and can spin if they get up enough speed.
Size:- 6.00 inches long approx.
Condition:- The toy is in very good condition. There is no real sign of play wear, only minor marks from manufacture. Working order! The box is also in good condition. Please see photos. Open photos in new tab for full screen view.
