Flying Sky Patrol Helicopter, Fire Chief, T.P.S. / Toplay Ltd., Japan.
Original vintage "Flying Sky Patrol Helicopter", Fire Chief version. Vintage tin plate toy produced by T.P.S. / Toplay Ltd., Japan. Very similar to the T.P.S. Super Flying Helicopter, with which it shares a mechanism. It differs from the Super Flying Helicopter in that it doesn't have flashing lights. It is, however, all lithography, not having the clear canopy and plastic pilot of the other version. This example dates to the late 60's or very early 70's I believe as it doesn't carry the ST mark.
Mechanism:- Battery operated.
Action:- Complex action. From a standstill the helicopter will move along the ground on its wheels with rotor spinning (with noise), it then stops ascends on its base, which extends out beneath it. Having reached the altitude of a few inches it tilts forward as if flying through the air for a brief period, the process then reverses to bring the helicopter in for a landing. Cycle repeats. One of the more complex mechanisms that you will find in a tin toy.

Condition:- In very good condition, working order. The box is also in good condition. Please refer to photographs.
