Locomotive, ME 061, China.
Vintage tin plate "Locomotive". Marked "ME 061" and "Made in China" etc. on both toy and box. Earlier style colourful box.
Mechanism:- Battery operated with 'non-fall' action. Light in chimney/smoke stack. Pistons move back and forth.
Action:- Moves about erratically until it reaches the edge of a table etc. at which point it turns and avoids falling over the edge.
Size:- 8.00 inches long approx.
Condition:- In very good condition, working order. Does not appear to have been played with. The box is also in good condition. The non-fall action is a little unreliable, I think the toy needs a little more weight at the front (although this is how it was supplied originally). The light in the chimney/smoke stack is currently not working (I'll include a couple of new 3 volt light bulbs with the toy). Please see photos (open in new tab/window to see full size image).
