Mettoy - Mother Hen Target Game, Great Britain.
Original vintage 'Mother Hen Target Game' marked 'Made in Great Britain' and 'Mettoy'. This is probably actually a product of the Knickerbocker Plastic Co., California, U.S.A., imported and possibly partially assembled and boxed in Great Britain. The lithography is unchanged from U.S. versions of the toy apart from the addition of a Mettoy label. The barn shown in the background is not like anything you would find on a British farm. The target is fitted with a mechanism that deposits an 'egg' into the cardboard 'basket' when the egg shaped target area is hit.
Mechanism:- projectile operated reward mechanism.
Action:- Target game with rubber tipped darts. Hitting the target causes a reward to be deposited.
Size:- Target 10.50 x 14.00 inches approx.
Condition:- The tin plate target and the gun are in very good condition and in working order. The cardboard 'basket', which attaches to the target is present and in good condition. Both plastic feet are present and in tact. Two of the original eight 'eggs' are still present. Only one of the original three rubber tipped darts is still present (probably the most difficult element to find for these sets). The box is in good condition with some age related wear and tear.
