Automatic Washing Machine No. 2, Masudaya, Japan.
Original vintage tin plate "Automatic Washing Machine No. 2" novelty toy from the 1960's. Marked with the Masudaya trade mark (M over T within a diamond). In original box which is also marked with the Masudaya trade mark and "Made in Japan". It's also marked with the patent number No. 35960.167015. Complete with plastic washing basket.
Mechanism:- Clockwork / Wind-Up motor with integral key.
Action:- Agitator moves backwards and forwards inside the machine when the switch is activated.
Size:- box 3.75 x 4.75 x 3.50 inches approx.
Condition:- The toy is in very good condition. Some very light play wear and signs of age but no rust. The box is also in good condition. There is some minor 'push-through' damage on the box base caused by the key. Please refer to photographs.
