Fishing Boy No. 2104, Yoneya, Japan.
Original vintage tin plate "Fishing Boy" novelty toy from the 1960's. Marked with the Yoneya trade mark (YONE within a diamond). In original box which is also marked with the Yoneya trade mark and "Made in Japan". Manufacturers reference number No. 2104. Dates to the late 1960's I would guess as there is some plastic incorporated into the toy. The box, however, is not marked with the ST mark (introduced in October 1971).
Mechanism:- Clockwork / Wind-Up motor with integral key.
Action:- Figure spins until the fish on the fishing line catches around the sign post. The line then wraps around the sign post several times. After a few turns the weight of the fish causes the line to reverse and unwrap. The figure is then free to spin again and the process repeats.
Size:- box 4.50 x 4.50 x 2.25 inches approx.
Condition:- The toy is in very good condition, ex shop stock. The box is in good condition. Please refer to photographs.
