This is a finely detailed original antique print (chromolithograph) from c. 1880. The accompanying scan gives a general idea of the overall view but cannot show the fine detail of the print.

Chromolithograph:- A lithographic print is produced by drawing an image onto a very fine grained, flat, stone slab or plate with oil, fat or wax. After chemical treatment an oil based ink is rolled over the stone surface where it is attracted to the image only. The stone plate is then pressed against paper to reproduce the drawn image. A chromolithograph is produced by repeating this process on a series of stone plates with different coloured inks. Size:- printed area 5.00 x 8.50 inches approx. The scan is cropped to show the printed area only but the actual print has a wide border allowing for mounting and framing.
