Pecking Chicken / Rooster, USSR.
Original vintage tin plate clockwork novelty pecking cockerel toy. The box is marked "Made In USSR". The toy itself is marked with the trade mark of the Mir Toy Factory in Minsk (stylised baby motif with the body forming the letter M), the capital of Belarus. The box is marked "Made In USSR". The combination of these markings indicates that the toy was produced, at least, pre 1991. It's likely to be a lot older as tin toys tended to be produced in batches rather than as a continuous process. All tin plate. Separate key.
n.b. later toys from this factory are put together with an intervening plastic element between the two tin plate halves of the toy (probably for safety reasons).
Mechanism:- Clockwork / Wind-Up.
Action:- Jumps about with pecking action.
Size:- 2.75 inches high approx.
Condition:- In very good condition. Working order. Boxed. Please refer to photographs.
