Vintage Circa 1940's Breast / Chest Microphone.
This is a vintage chest microphone from around the 1940's. It is marked "Transmitter Breast No. RX" on the reverse. The speaking tube is adjustable for position, it can also be removed. I have several of these that appear to be unused. The khaki straps are still wound around one of the fixing points. Although the microphones seem to be unused they have been stored for around 70 years. As a result there may be some slight flaking of the paintwork around the central fitting which takes the speaking tube.
